October 2005 Janome announces the release of their newest computerized embroidery sewing machine, the Memory Craft 11000. Janome, a leader in the desk-top robots industry, has incorporated desk-top robotics technology in the MC11000 to provide even greater precision and durability in embroidery arm movement. The MC11000 also features the industry’s largest display, the I-height moveable LCD screen, which comes with a built-in customizable screen saver. The on-screen controls have been streamlined for easier use and the MC11000 includes help movies as part of the online help. Janome’s newest embroidery digitizing and customizing applications are packed with features and make creating exciting designs easier than ever. The release of DigitizerPro V1.0 brings many improvements and new features to its predecessor, Janome Digitizer 10000. There are many general improvements to the interface. DigitizerPro also brings many lettering improvements with a dedicated toolbar. Automatic digitizing has been enhanced and there is an all-new Photo Click feature. There are also improvements to thread color control and hooping. The new Fabric feature now gives you total control over fabric settings as well as automatic underlay and pull compensation. There are also more advanced digitizing features to help you create exciting new embroidery effects. And graphics file handling has been enhanced, allowing you to turn a wide range of electronic artwork, including photographs, into embroidery. With this software, you can also now export a number of professional embroidery file formats for use with commercial machines. DigitizerPro V1.0 is compatible with all embroidery sewing machine models. Customizer 11000 is the newest addition to Janome’s Customizer line of embroidery software. Customizer software features easy-to-use layout and stitch conversion capabilities. August 2005   Dealers from around the world gathered in New Orleans for the Janome Institute 2005, July 31 to August 3, 2005.This year marked the first international Janome Institute with 1200 participants gathering from over 20 countries to take part in the four-day-long event which included exhibits from a wide range of sewing and embroidery related vendors. Participants attended lectures and hands-on demonstrations where they were introduced to new sewing and computerized embroidery techniques, became familiar with Janome’s new models, and learned new sales strategies.     The highlight of the event was the much-anticipated unveiling of Janome’s new flagship computerized embroidery sewing machine, the Memory Craft 11000. Update: Shortly after enjoying the warm hospitality of our New Orleans hosts, we were saddened to see the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina. Through our U.S. subsidiary, Janome has donated $50,000 to the Red Cross. We encourage you to give as well. May 2005 Japan Hobby Show Held 12 - 14 May, 2005 at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center, the show was the perfect place to display Janome's latest models. Janome's panoramic booth attracted many people over the duration of the show. Janome representatives were on hand to demonstrate amazing original embroidery created with newly updated software, and introduced the high-speed straight stitch sewing machine series. April 2005 Janome Dealers across the United States joined together on February 19, 2005 to promote Make a Blanket Day for Project Linus. Project Linus is a volunteer organization that collects handmade blankets to be distributed throughout the United States to children of all ages who are in need. Employees of Janome America in Mahwah, New Jersey, also got involved by getting together on Make a Blanket Day and creating 30 blankets for Project Linus. Everyone who turned in a new, handmade blanket to a participating Janome dealer between February 1 and March 31 was entered into a drawing for a new Janome DC3050 Décor Computer sewing machine, at least one of which was given away at each participating Janome dealer. More than 270 Janome dealers in 44 states participated in this year’s Make a Blanket Day, and collected nearly 40,000 blankets.
