Janome is certified to ISO 9001 (the international standard for quality management systems) and ISO 14001 (the international standard for environmental management systems) for the operation of the Production Division (Hachioji City, Tokyo), our main plant which manufactures sewing machines, clean bath systems (24-hour baths), Electro Presses, robots, embroidery machines, and casting machines. Janome is committed to improving quality and environment in accordance with ISO certifications.

Policy

The Production Division (Hachioji City, Tokyo) is responsible for manufacturing sewing machines, 24-hour clean bath systems, Electro Presses, robots, and other industrial equipment in accordance with the policy as follows:

1. All staff shall engage in environmentally conscious work practices in accordance with the company environmental objectives based on the environmental impact assessment of company activities.
2. All sections shall present annual plans and perform environmental audits for continuous improvement of the company environment management system.
3. All staff shall take part in further environmentally conscious work practices according to environment-related regulations and agreements regarding company activities.
4. We shall make every effort to prevent pollution and promote environmentally conscious work practices based on careful consideration on environmental impact, including the following objectives.
   a) Recycle and reduce waste materials.
   b) Reduce hazardous substances.
   c) Promote resource and energy conservation.
5. All staff shall learn the company environmental policy through the company environmental education program in order to further promote environmentally conscious work practices.
6. We are responsible for all contents of this environmental policy.
