User Terms & Conditions
  • This agreement is between JANOME Corporation (hereafter “JANOME”), the administrator of the Janome Industrial Equipment Product Download Site (hereafter “Download Site”) and the customers (hereafter “Users”) who register to use the Download Site, and sets the conditions for use when customers use the aforementioned Download Site.
  • Users shall agree with this agreement when Users complete User registration.
  • This agreement is effective from the 1st day of Julyt, 2025 and is applicable for all Users, both previously registered Users and new Users.
  1. User Registration
    1. Customers who wish to register as Users agree to with the content of this agreement and register from the New User Registration page and according to the procedures stipulated by the Download Site.
    2. JANOME will refuse to approve the User Registration application from a website visitor if any of the following items apply.
    • If the registration content of the application contains false information.
    • If the applicant's qualifications as Users were rescinded in the past in accordance with this agreement.
    • The email address submitted at the time of registration is from private domain.
    • If for any other reason, JANOME deems the application as Users are not appropriate.
  2. Handling of Registered Users' Personal Information
    1. JANOME will handle Users' personal information in accordance with its separately stipulated "Privacy Policy" : (https://www7.janome.co.jp/global/privacypolicy/)Users agree to allow JANOME to use their personal information in accordance with the aforementioned "Privacy Policy".
    2. Within the scope of purposes of use for Users' personal information stipulated in 'Privacy Policy' described above, JANOME may, offer guidance through telephone calls, or send various materials through the post, email, FAX or other media. Users may contact and inform JANOME of their refusal to receive aforesaid guidance or materials at any time,
  3. Interruption of Services
  4. JANOME may temporarily interrupt all or a portion of the Download Site services without any advance notice if any of the following events occur.
  5. JANOME shall not bear any responsibility for any losses suffered by Users due to an interruption of Download Site services.
    1. Any periodical or urgent system maintenance of the Download Site server equipment and/or facilities.
    2. Any loss of the ability to provide services due to a natural disaster such as a fire, power outage, earthquake, volcanic eruption or third party interference, etc.
    3. Any malfunction or breakdown of the server equipment or facility providing the Download Site.
    4. Any other reason, which would force JANOME to choose to temporarily suspend download site services.
  6. Changes to Service Content and/or Discontinuation
  7. Please understand that the data provided on the Download Site may be changed or the offering of such data suspended without advance notice.
  8. Also, JANOME shall not bear any responsibility for any losses suffered by Users due to a change in or suspension of Download Site service content.
  9. Copyright and Duplication and/or Alteration of Contents
  10. All copyrights for all data posted on the Download Site belong to JANOME.
  11. The copying (including data file copies) or modification part or all of the copyrighted materials such as operation manuals without the permission of JANOME is forbidden.
  12. The distribution to third parties and the posting on other websites of copyrighted material is also forbidden.
  13. Forbidden Activities
  14. Users shall not engage in the following activities when using the Download Site.
    1. Sharing a login password with a third-party.
    2. Using a User ID and/or login password for illicit purposes.
    3. Activities which either infringe, or carry the threat of infringement on JANOME's copyrights, trade secrets, assets, rights, profits, privacy, reputation or creditability.
    4. Using or providing computer viruses or other harmful computer programs, data or information through the Download Site or in connection with the Download Site.
    5. Indecent activities.
    6. Activities which violate laws and threat of violating the law.
    7. Other activities which may be deemed inappropriate by JANOME.
  15. 7. Cancellation of Registration
  16. JANOME may, without prior notice to the Users, cancel a User’s registration if any of the following apply to that User:
    1. Users fail to fulfill the pre-existing conditions for User registration outlined in Article 1 (User Registration).
    2. Users misused their User ID and password.
    3. JANOME determined the Users fall under an activity described in Article 6 (Forbidden Activities).
    4. Users have not logged in to the Download Site for a period of 1 year or more.
    5. JANOME has otherwise determined Users are not qualified as Users.
  17. Indemnity
    1. In the course of using the Download Site under various conditions, failures such as garbled characters, missing data, errors, interruptions and unavailability may occur. JANOME bears no responsibility for any losses suffered by Users as a result of Download Site failure.
    2. JANOME bears no responsibility for any losses suffered by Users as a result of using the Download Site.
    3. 9. Termination of Services
    4. Janome may, regardless of the reason, after setting a period for giving Users advance notice thereof, terminate the Download Site services in whole or in part.
    5. 10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
    6. This agreement is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan. Also, the Tokyo District Court will be the exclusive court with jurisdiction for the first instance over any dispute which may arise between Users and JANOME.
